Sind Muslim College was founded in the year 1943 by the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with only 40 students on its roll; it appeared on the educational horizon of Sindh, purely as an arts college at the postgraduate level. Initially, faculties of Science, Commerce and Law did not exist in the college. It was in 1945 that Science faculty was added, followed by the commerce faculty in 1953.
